Yvonne M. Melton
Yvonne is the Community Engagement Manager on Google’s Education for Social Impact Team. In this role, she leads the volunteer strategy and operations for Google's tech education outreach initiatives to mobilize thousands of Googlers to volunteer with students in classrooms and with non-profit organizations globally.
In previous roles at Google, she managed partnerships with student and teacher serving non-profits to increase access and exposure to computer science and digital skills education with a focus on those who are underrepresented in the tech industry. She has expertise in partnering with program & product teams to bring their product to a diverse market by helping them to align with diverse user needs and through developing relationships, activations, and scalable outreach initiatives with non-profits, professional associations, and community based organizations. She has also worked to engage talent for business roles at Google as a Diversity Recruiting Programs Specialist, and Staffing Analyst.
Yvonne is passionate about enacting social change to improve the quality of life in a meaningful way for those who need it most, especially for women and girls of color. By providing opportunities and through education, mentorship, and transforming access to necessary resources and life skills, Yvonne seeks to bridge accessibility gaps in programs, products, and social change investments. Yvonne believes that providing opportunities through education and mentorship is transformative.
Prior to joining the board, Yvonne was a Cinnamongirl mentor and workshop facilitator in Oakland, CA.
Yvonne has a Master of Science in Non-Profit Leadership and Social Impact Strategy Certification from the University of Pennsylvania. She also has a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Howard University.
