Why Cinnamongirl

Cinnamongirl gives girls transformative experiences that build courage, confidence, and character. We envision a world where girls of color feel welcome and represented in any career or discipline—with role models, access, and a network. We are creating a pipeline of remarkable female leaders, innovators and trailblazers.

Girls of color, in particular, face huge obstacles. First, it's not easy to dream a life for yourself when you don't see many examples of excellence. Second, the higher she climbs the professional ladder, the more lonely her path becomes. She is often the only person of color in the room. We must help her see the possibilities for her life, and then prepare her mind and heart to endure the struggle she will inevitably face. We then surround her with other like-minded superstars, so she is always supported, and never alone.

We believe that when you immerse a girl in a powerful network, and provide her with life-changing experiences, not only will she thrive, but she will bring others along with her.
