Shawnelle Gibbs is a writer from Oakland, California currently based in Los Angeles. Her credits span television, comics, and film. As one-half of the Gibbs Sisters writing team, she’s authored the YA comic book series Fashion Forward, The Invention of E.J. Whitaker, and the upcoming YA graphic novel, Ghost Roast, scheduled for publication by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt / Versify. Shawnelle is currently staffed as a television writer for Warner Bros. Animation. She’s also written for Dreamworks Animation, Mattel Studios, and Netflix.

One of her proudest personal achievements is becoming a Cinnamongirl writing coach, where she delights in encouraging the next generation of creative voices and leaders.
