Robin hails from the San Francisco Bay Area and is a graduate of Berkeley High School. Growing up she was involved with the renowned American Conservatory Theatre and performed in several mainstage productions as a child and young adult. After graduating from Northwestern University, Robin settled in Los Angeles and landed a development executive position at Walt Disney Studios. While she was at Disney, Robin incorporated her personal experience as a young actress and became instrumental in shifting the way young performers were viewed and worked towards building a diverse palate in front of the camera and behind it.  

Robin is one of the inaugural executives to create and manage a compensated screenplay writing program at a studio level for untested writers. While managing the Disney Writers Fellowship Program, she was responsible for developing communications with theatrical groups, universities, and writer's workshops on a national level. She also mentored new talent and effectively sought placement for them within the entertainment industry.  

During her tenure at the studio Robin oversaw the development and production of numerous feature films including Sister Act, Hocus Pocus, Cool Runnings, Ironwill, and Homeward Bound.  She transitioned into working for independent production companies and developed and sold properties for talent as varied as Dave Chapelle, Sinbad, Bette Midler, Martin Short, and Magic Johnson. 

Outside of her feature film and television experience, Robin has become engaged in the important work of education and worked to close gaps in achievement. Two projects that came out of that work was the development of a line of curriculum-based comic books for elementary schools with Magic Johnson Enterprises and a bilingual musical pre-school series for the Disney Channel.  At the high school level, Robin serves as a college essay reader at Berkeley High.

Robin is back in the Bay Area where she does public speaking and performance storytelling. After years of writing screenplays, staged work, short stories, and essays, Robin’s debut novel “Ink for the Beloved” was released at the start of 2020. The YA The Tattoo Teller series features a teenage Black detective with psychic abilities that focus on tattoos. The second book in the series, “Ink for the Damned” will be out next spring.
