Rita Woods' debut novel, Remembrance, has won multiple awards including, the Southern Independent Booksellers Association's Okra Award and Best Historical Fiction from the African American Literary Association. She is the Medical Director of a Wellness Center that services one of the largest trade unions in the nation and sits on the Board of Directors of her local library.

She lives outside of Chicago with her husband, sons, perfect granddaughter, and too many cats. She is currently at work on her next novel.
