Regina N. Lucas
Regina Lucas heads the Fair and Responsible Banking Compliance team at Bank of the West. In this role, she leads a team of seasoned professionals that manage a comprehensive program to assure compliance obligations regarding fair treatment and anti-discrimination are proactively mitigated in all consumer finance disciplines. Her team also analyzes customer complaints for emerging risk and monitors the Bank’s usage of artificial intelligence to ensure customers receive fair treatment.
Prior to this role, Regina spent 19 years with Bank of America in a variety of progressive leadership roles in Technology & Operations, Global Treasury Services, and the Consumer Bank. She spent 10 years in compliance and is experienced with high-risk regulations related to servicemember protections, fair banking, and customer complaints, plus managed the bank’s quarterly reporting obligations to the Department of Justice. She holds a Regulatory Compliance Management certification from the American Bankers Association and is a Six Sigma Black Belt.
Early in her career, Regina worked as a management consultant, with an internet start-up, and in the energy industry. She is passionate about mentorship and helping young women reach their full potential. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and Jack and Jill of America where she has served in various leadership roles.
Regina earned a B.S. degree from the University of California at Berkeley, where she majored in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research. She also has an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. Regina is married with two adult children and resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
