2023 Entrepreneurgirl Winners
2023 Entrepreneurgirl Winners:
The third place winner was Taylor Sky and her business Never Caught Slippin’, a self care and beauty subscription box co-created with her mom. Like many young girls, Taylor Sky noticed her self esteem drop substantially when she transitioned to middle school, so she created this business to help girls and gender nonconforming youth take back their confidence.
Second place went to Stella and her business Stella’s Sweet Shoppe, a baking business that she started with her mom during lockdown in 2020 when traditional bakeries were closed. Now that most places have reopened, her business is still thriving as she delivers her sweets across Los Angeles and donates 10% of her profits to Heal the Bay.
The first prize winner was Denver with Den-Z Marketplace, a platform for freelancing GenZers to promote and sell their services. Denver started doing freelance voiceover work in 2020 and noticed a big hole in the market for the growing population of GenZ freelancers.
Honorable mention to Bella and Reva. Bella’s business, Little Melodies, is a virtual piano program for ages 5-17. Bella will teach kids piano online, getting them engaged by starting with well-known, age-appropriate songs. Reva’s Upcycled Sports Shoes purchases used athletic shoes from families who are no longer using them at a low price, refurbishes the shoes, and resells them at a profit.
Congratulations to the entire Entrepreneurgirl cohort. We are so proud of you for pursuing your passions and devoting time and energy into developing your original ideas. And a huge thank you to Ms. Seema and Ms. Sobha for giving so much to our girls over the last five months.
