Spotlight - Brenda Love

Brenda Love joined Cinnamongirl in 2008 as a mentor. Through the years, she has served on the Executive Board and the Advisory Board, introducing us to several of our amazing supporters, planning events and fundraisers, and helping to steer us as we’ve grown.

Brenda shares and embodies Cinnamongirl’s deep love and commitment to girl empowerment and education. Not only did she take on larger organizational leadership roles such as serving on the Executive Board and Advisory Boards, but she led the Strategic Plan team in 2013, and still found time to involve herself by planning activities for the girls. Her greatest gift has been the way she has combined her passion for travel with her passion for our girls’ growth and education; she has drawn on her extensive travel experience to help shape and deliver an amazing travel program that includes a deep dive into culture, language, colonization and history.

Brenda is involved in all areas of the program: She listens to our team leads then goes to work finding the best places for the girls to stay, transportation and assists with activities. She is conscientious about costs and goes the extra mile to keep our trip within budget. She works with the parents in Travelgirl, ensuring that each girl and her parent/guardian has all of the information and support they need to meet their individual fundraising goals.

It is no exaggeration to say that Brenda is responsible for making Travelgirl into the wonderfully rich and exciting experience that it is.
