As a high school dropout, and low-income single-parent through most of university, Anne F. Walker overcame multiple diagnosed disabilities to earn a PhD in American Urban Poetics from the University of California at Berkeley, author books, win awards, and develop expertise in teaching.

Ink and Ink and Flesh and Length, her sixth poetry book, is contracted to come out through London's The Black Spring Press Group. Her previous books include Six Months’ Rent, Pregnant Poems, Into the Peculiar Dark, The Exit Show, and American Urban Poetics.
